About CRF

Independent, non-partisan research on governance, welfare, and public policy in India.

Our Mission

Citizen Research Foundation (CRF) is committed to producing independent, non-partisan research that addresses critical questions in governance, welfare, and public policy. We believe that rigorous, accessible analysis strengthens democratic participation and improves policy outcomes.

Our mission is threefold: to publish high-quality research that informs public discourse, to elevate diverse voices and perspectives in policy conversations, and to nurture the next generation of policy researchers through structured programs.

The Challenge We Address

Policy discourse in India is centralised and unevenly accessible—creating a persistent gap between policy communication and ground realities. Academic research often remains siloed within institutions, while public debate frequently lacks the evidentiary grounding needed for informed decision-making.

This disconnect is particularly acute for Eastern and North-Eastern India, where regional perspectives and data are underrepresented in national policy conversations. CRF bridges this divide by translating rigorous evidence into clear public analysis, making research accessible to citizens, policymakers, and practitioners alike.
